Where it all comes together
Technology, pedagogy and content are at the core of this proposed individualized technology professional learning program. Technology is both the tool and in understanding its complex nature and relationships, the content, that will allow teachers to be able to teach 21st century skills to their students. Teachers and administration know that differentiation works and is already applied to student learning so we are to professional learning as well. Within this program, teachers would have an increased understanding of the relationship between technology pedagogy and content. This understanding will serve as a solid foundation from which future educational technology initiatives and purchasing will thrive as educators become more knowledgeable technology advocates with a healthy skepticism that drives us towards purposeful and meaningful technology integration and innovation. In terms of the SAMR model, this proposal hopes to shift technology mindset in our building from the common practice of substitution towards augmentation, modification and eventual redefinition given due time.
