Transformation in Learning
The transformation in learning that I would like to see is a shift from technology use towards meaningful technology integration and innovation by all staff in my building. As models for our students, a staff should be able to support 21st century learning by developing students' skills such as creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, information literacy and citizenship that will allow them to become successful global citizens in a rapidly changing future.
In order to do this, staff, teachers and administration need to understand and apply the importance of the relationship between technical knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and content knowledge within their context. I would like them to think critically about the skills that their students need and find ways that technology can help those students reach those goals.
Through an individualized technology professional development plan, I would like the staff to become active and engaged participants and experience technology instead of the current professional development standard of passive receivers of technology knowledge.

Iste Standards for Teachers

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Teacher Standards address the shift towards connected learning that I would like to see in our staff. The standards outline the key content and understandings that teachers need to have in order to support students in their 21st century learning. The ISTE Teacher Standards also will act as the unit used to establish goals and assess teacher mastery and progression in their individualized technology professional development plan.
